City center Barcelona apartments

If the focus of your visit is for sightseeing, shopping, trying Spanish cuisine or discovering the city intimately, any City center Barcelona apartments are the right choice for you. Living in this area will allow you to go sightseeing in downtown Barcelona close to the Ramblas, in the historical parts of Barcelona, and have easy transport to any point that you might want to go. The most important sightseeing points start here with the Plaza Catalunya, point zero of the city and the heart of Barcelona. Going through the Plaza Catalunya, you arrive to the famous Las Ramblas that start in Plaza Catalunya and go all the way down to the seaport. On the Ramblas you have the famous Licieu Opera house, the Mercat La Boquería is one of the oldest markets in the city. The origins of the market is unknown but we do know that it served as a moving market where the people who lived outside the city, the fishermen and traders came to sell their products. Today, it is still an open-air market that has small, specialized stands. There are stands only for fresh seafood, for fruit and vegetables, stands for specialty cheese and stands for meat products like “fuet” which is dried salami with spices. Highly recommended! In the front of the market, you can find fresh fruit juice that is famous amongst visitors. In the market, you can also find small pit stop restaurants, also known as snack shops and a coffee shop (coffee shops also double as bars because they also sell wine and drinks). The historical part of Barcelona, the medieval Barcelona is off the sides of the Ramblas. You can really get lost in history exploring the many small streets. In the City center, on the other side of the Plaza Catalunya, you have the chic Passeig de Gracia. This is the most important Street in the city as it houses the biggest designer names in fashion. It is a historical Street and where Antoni Gaudi has his famous La Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. Even if you do not want to go shopping, it is a beautiful Street to walk up and down browsing. During the winter season, there are Christmas lights and many events take place on this Street every year. If you want to go see other sights that aren’t within walking distance is really easy. The metro runs underneath the Plaza Catalunya and the Official Barcelona Tour bus also has many stops here. Shopping is key in the city center. You can find authentic souvenirs in the many shops down the Ramblas, go clothes shopping in the Passeig de Gracia or find discounts down the Portal de Angel Street close to the Corte Ingles. There are so many different shops in the city center to choose from for whatever you may be looking for. For tasting authentic Mediterranean cooking, you have many options for tapas, paellas, and Catalan cuisine, or even a quality Burger and fries, sushi or pizza if you prefer. Barcelona is a cosmopolitan city so we have cosmopolitan tastes. There are even new vegan, gluten free, celiac friendly and vegetarian option restaurants sprouting up every year.   It is so important to really live in the heart of a city to get to know it and to explore its little secret corners. In the city center you can move to the rhythm of Barcelona like the locals do. You have the chance to taste and try new things. And most importantly, you have the opportunity to really see and experience Barcelona in a profound way.
