The Barcelona city center means that you have quick access to where you want to go. We have larger apartments for large families and smaller apartments for smaller families. All are tasteful and comfortable. The best sightseeing points in the city are in the city center. You have the famous Ramblas going all the way to the sea port. In the Ramblas you have La Boquería where you can have the experience to buy fresh produce like a local. They have a lot of hidden small places to have a coffee and tapas in the Boquería. Many very noteworthy stands are proud to offer their characteristic tapa. You have the Liceu Opera House on the Rambla and many small streets lined with souvenirs. To the left of the Ramblas, there is a large commercial street called Portal del Angel. Here, you can find the Disney store, Zara, two very large H&M’s and many other very interesting shopping points. The Passeig de Gracia is another very important street to remember. It is the most important street in Barcelona as it houses only the most exclusive shopping and it is also a very lovely street to walk around. Here, you will find the two famous Gaudi houses, the Casa Batlló and the Pedrera. There are many activities that you may do in addition to visiting the two famous houses. In La Pedrera, for example, they do a musical lounge bar on the roof. Talk about romantic. The Plaza Catalunya is another fun place to pass by. It is the main plaza and has a couple of water fountains. During la Mercé the city sometimes holds free concerts in, or around the Plaza. If trying local cuisine is your aim, you are lucky as the city center can give options to even the pickiest of eaters. You can find vegetarian friendly restaurants, ethnic like Asian, Indian, American cuisine or local food. We highly recommend that you try local Spanish dishes such as tortilla de patata, jamon iberico, bombas, or croquetas. These are usually small portions that you can share with the whole family. It is also a great way to try something that isn’t just paella and sangria which really doesn’t depict the richness of Spanish cuisine. As we mentioned before, if you are interested in shopping during your stay, you have all the biggest name in retail along the Passeig de Gracia and the Portal del Angel. You will not only have days of stores to peruse but also, you will spend a lot of time walking around. A gentle perk of enjoying the Mediterranean sunshine while you are getting things done. There are sometimes white tents that are on the top of the Portal del Angel street where they sell handmade crafts if you are interested and sometimes, in front of the Barcelona Cathedral, there is a second hand antique market. In Christmas, you can catch the many outdoor Christmas markets. They really are a sight to see.If you are one of the lucky people that are coming to Barcelona when there is a special day, you are in for a treat living in the city center. You have the Three Kings parade pass right by your front door. The Three Kings parade is a magical parade when the Three Kings of the Orient come to Barcelona to bring the children presents.
